Fun Black Tie Wedding at Davenport House

Confetti at Davenport House

Let me tell you all about Jess & Sam’s amazing black tie wedding day at Davenport House in early November. It was a day filled with pure joy, amazing energy (just look at the photos of Sam’s face during the ceremony and you’ll understand the kind of top-tier energy I was working with), and the most incredible winter sunshine bathing the whole scene!

Now, imagine a stunning Georgian country manor as the scene for their big day. Davenport House, with its grandeur and charm, provided the perfect backdrop for every moment to unfold beautifully. As their photographer, I aimed for a relaxed yet stylish vibe, capturing every moment in a way that’s both timeless and iconic.

Jess & Sam were all about soaking up every moment of their reception. We planned ahead to ensure their group shots were well-organised and also figured out when we were going to do their couples portraits so that every one was on the same page ahead of the day. After all, they wanted to be fully present and enjoy the party vibes! After the wedding, they said to me, ‘We had always said that we wanted the photos section of the day to be short and sweet, to enjoy the drinks reception and not miss out, but we honestly look back and having those photographs with our family, friends and each other were truly a favourite part for us – and that’s all down to you.’ I think we can safely say that I understood the assignment.

Let’s talk about the party! Jess & Sam were true to form and brought some serious energy, and it was contagious! Their first dance, complete with epic floor sparklers (trust me, pictures do not do them justice!), set the tone for an unforgettable evening. And when the sax player started up, the dance floor exploded!

I absolutely loved capturing every moment of Jess & Sam’s special day, connecting with them and their loved ones, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Not to be cheesy, but it really was a celebration filled with love, laughter, and all-around good vibes. Cheers to the happy couple and their epic wedding bash at Davenport House! 🥂

‘Not only is she super talented, she’s also so much fun and just got us and our sense of humour from the get go. At the fun parts it felt like we were hanging out with a good friend and just having a laugh, then in the more serious parts (ceremony, speeches) she was so discreet, we forgot we were even being photographed. A true professional! And as well as being an incredible photographer, she also helped me so much on the day with everything in between, right down to changing my heels and even brushing my hair! Something she definitely did not sign up for but she was so happy to help me in every possible way and I just can’t thank her enough.

I am jealous of anyone having her as their wedding photographer, as I wish I could do it all over again! If you’ve booked her for your wedding, without a doubt it’s the best decision you have made. And if you’re thinking about booking Rebecca, you will absolutely not regret it. She’s the best investment we made for our wedding by a mile and I will cherish our photos and those memories forever.’
