A Parisian Sunrise: Jeremy and Ellen’s Couple’s Shoot and Return to the City of Love

Returning to Paris is always a magical experience in that you can always find more.

More prettiness, more romance, more love, more joy. Whether that be on the charming streets, the bustling boulevards, or simply when visiting a quintessential bakery for a croissant or a pain au chocolat (or both), I can confidently say I will never get bored of Paris.

I also love a destination shoot, especially when the location holds deep personal significance. For Jeremy and Ellen, this city has been both a backdrop and a protagonist in their love story. They first tied the knot here five years ago, surrounded by the romance and history that only Paris can offer. Now, they returned to celebrate relatives Julie and Justin’s wedding, bringing with them their own unique chapter of love and resilience, and decided to make the most of their time together in the City.

As the sun struggled to rise over the Louvre, the weather was far from ideal; nevertheless, we embraced its moody charm. The mist and rain only enhanced the clean lines and serene quality of their photographs, reflecting the depth of their connection against the backdrop of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks and the weather’s unpredictability did little to dampen Jamie and Ellen’s spirits.

Other than its obvious elegant appeal, one thing I loved about Ellen’s outfit for her couples shoot was that it was rented. Not only does renting save money, but it also reduces waste and provides access to a wider range of styles and unique designer pieces. It was the perfect choice; the structure and neckline offered a blend of soft luxury and chic sophistication and worked so well with every backdrop whilst remaining practical for when their little people arrived.

Jeremy, like his sister Julie, faced the challenge of losing his sight as a teenager. Despite this, he has absolutely embraced life, achieving something truly remarkable becoming the world champion in blind golf – a ridiculously inspiring achievement that speaks volumes about his determination and passion.

Whether it’s photographing a wedding, an engagement or a couples shoot, documenting stories like Jeremy’s and Ellen’s is what I cherish most about photography – capturing people as humans with all they have been through and overcome. The images we capture together become more than just photographs; they magically transform into the punctuation marks of their stories – stories of resilience, triumphs, and the lives they’ve built together.

I will always advocate doing your couples shoot your way, and if that means including the people that define you as a couple, I’m here for it. Jeremy and Ellen were joined by their children and extended family to take some beautifully candid shots along with an iconic portrait shot. An instant family heirloom that  everyone will undoubtedly treasure forever.

Jeremy and Ellen were able to celebrate Julie and Justin’s wedding and take home not just the memories of their wedding but also the shared joy of being together in Paris, amidst the beauty of the city and the magic of connection.

Available to photograph destination weddings, engagement shoots and just-because shoots, I would love to chat to you about your plans. Fill out an enquiry form and tell me everything.
